Everyone knew Mama - here on earth, that is! Now they know her in HEAVEN as she delightfully tells all of heaven wild tales about her grandkids' latest antics! (A bit theologically incorrect, I know - she is really in the presence of the Lord awaiting the day when she CAN walk heaven's streets and tell Grandma tales!!) On Sunday she would have been 102 years old - now that's old, but now she is eternally young, with the Lord she loved so well.
How do I know? 'Cause she was/IS "MY" Mama - and I honor her this weekend.
Mom was/is unforgettable - she was a pastor's wife, a preacher in her own right, a friend to everyone. That friendship extended to her kitchen where she fed many a hungry preacher and evangelist and gave away most of the food that she canned! Mom was full of life and fun, supremely devoted to her Lord and her family.
Enjoy a very special devotional that so well describes the godly woman who gave me life, taught me how to live it and knew how to let me know if I didn't!! I rise and call her blessed!
Happy Birthday, Mom - and yes, I still read my Bible, brush my teeth and change my you-know-what!!
