Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." "Peace, Peril and the Prince...Prospects for a New Year!?!"

Daily Manna's Bible reading: Matthew 2:20-23 (NIV)

It's 2000 years ago and the Prince of Peace is in PERIL? Unbelievable, and yet true. The young child Jesus is terror-targeted in the mad world of a mad man named Herod.....end of story?? No way! For God appears on the scene and all is changed. For, you see, there was a plan for the little Prince.....someday He, as a young adult, would face terror from the terrorist of all time - but Satan's attempt would fail and our Lord would rise triumphant from hell, death and the grave.

End of story? No way!

It's 2000 years later, and peril is still alive and well. Gone is the Christmas song of "Peace on earth, goodwill to men," as we watch news from around the world! The story progresses...for our Prince is on the way!

And so, what, pray tell, are the prospects for 2009? Peace? Peril? Panic? God help us - and He will. This Prince of Peace born 2000 years ago in the midst of peace, peril and panic, is STILL the Prince of Peace for our world. Lift up your eyes to the skies - not for the next terror attack, but for the coming King. The "Hallelujah Chorus" will echo throughout a war-torn world and He will reign forever and ever.

Happy New Year, wherever in this old world you live. He's coming again! HALLELUJAH!!
