"On the Morning after Bethlehem!"

Daily Manna's Bible reading: Matthew 2:1-11 (NIV)

On the morning after Bethlehem
things still seemed the same -
but that was an illusion
for everything had changed.

The solemn stillness had been shattered -
and as the dawn broke bright and clear
there was just a breath of Eden
for God was so close - so near.

On the morning after Bethlehem
God's' first day in flesh began
Judah's mighty Lion -
had become Mary's infant Lamb.

Through Immaculate Design
Love's journey had begun
from this dawn to a distant darkness
to the final rising of the Son.

On the morning after Bethlehem
the enemy had lost
incomprehensible victory
incomprehensible cost.

Though the star begins to fade
the manger beacons still
as Christ becomes the Son
to obey the Father's willed.

On the morning after Bethlehem
the wonder becomes mine
the story once foretold has come
testified in space and time.

Now I can sing like the angels
with the shepherds I rejoice
as the wise men I now worship
and in a Baby's cry,
hear God's voice.
