"Something Old...Something New: A Bridal Celebration!
Today is Peggie & Joe's 31st wedding anniversary!
Daily Manna's Bible reading: Isaiah 40:3-5 (NIV) . . . Psalm 119:57-59 (NIV) . . . John 14:16-21 (NIV)
I'm a romanticist at heart and learned this one, as you did, years ago...a traditional bride's outfit includes "something old, something new, something borrowed and something _______--BLUE!" You remember it too! Good--for we're about to replay that old rhyme of "good fortune" for the Bride of Christ today. You see, we've already got the "Old" and the "New" - God's Word of truth, inspiration, comfort and direction - for our year's journey. Claim God's promises--they are never OLD-fashioned; they are NEW every morning--and they're there for you each day.
And the "borrowed"? No way can we borrow the burdens from tomorrow and load them onto our shoulders today.....now we may each need to borrow a friend's shoulder to cry on--and that's OK--but let's allow the Holy Spirit to be our divine Comforter; let's "take our burdens to the Lord and leave them there!"--past, present AND future!
And the "blue"? It may be as light blue as a cloudless sky--it may be as dark blue as a stormy heart. See life through heaven's eyes, not your own--and your life will be a BRIGHT blue--as bright as the promises of your Heavenly Father! And oh yes...another idea....when you're blue this year, surf on over to the Blue Room at Peggie's Place...and I dare you to stay blue very long! Blue's not your hue when you're here, for where the Lord is, there is "fullness of joy"--and He is here!
Bride of Christ, you've got God's OLD and NEW Testaments, a great Christian friend's borrowed shoulder, and a grand old blue home on the Web--march on into the rest of your life with confidence, victory and joy--we are ONE with Him and we're going to make it! Now believe it--get on that wedding dress, HIS robe of righteousness--and have a great day! (Guys...a dress is a bit much, I know - but the robe will be fine, I promise you...!!)
And so---"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue"--we're ready, Lord...here comes the BRIDE!

Please note that while I strongly adhere to major tenets of the evangelical Christian faith, I may not personally agree with every specific doctrinal belief set forth in other Christian pages. I do want to provide a diversity of links and resource material for the entire Body of Christ to enjoy, and trust you will view it as such.A safety tip: Internet links and material may include other links and/or material which do not reflect my Christian views or yours.
