"Pick-up Sticks and Throw-Away Stones!?!"

Let's take the time machine back to our kid days! Do you remember, like me, enjoying simple toys that made for hours of fun and challenge? Remember pick-up sticks? One of my favorite games......then there was the "stones" game.......the leader hid a stone in one hand and the player had to guess "which hand" - if you guessed right, you got to move to the next level, or maybe become the leader! It's so long ago I can't even remember the rules - chuckle - but the point is......Sticks and stones are throw-aways in our world today.......simple games have turned to high-tech and the "former things are passed away" - just as you may be feeling this day......a throw-away in the turn of events of your life, perhaps even being pelted with the sticks and stones that were fun in former times.......
Well, I have a message for you. You are NOT a "throw-away" or "aim-away" in the scheme of life as God sees it. You are a sturdy stick and a precious stone in God's eyes, useful for HIS purposes, and if your imagination is a bit wild like mine, those sticks 'n stones are being made into a mansion for HIS glory and honor, way more valuable than any of the high-tech, computer-generated homes you might find displayed on the Web.
Why? Because you and I are built on a firm foundation - we stand on the Rock Christ Jesus - and we're not going down in any battle or storm. Let the sticks 'n stones fly - we will not fret. We stand FIRMLY on the Rock this day - we face the enemy in the power of Christ and His Word and we WIN......now believe that, whatever in your life you face today - teach one of those simple long-ago, fun games to your kids - and have a victorious, God-planned day in the Lord......
