When markets of the world fail and fall, the Master of the Word stands able and ready to provde for our needs - physical, financial, emotional, practical - for He is a practical God. When your private world takes a terrible tumble, He's there too - He'll pick you up, hold you close and assure you of His eternal love.

So what are you needing MOST today? The stuff of this world or the sustenance of another? More than money in the bank - important as it is - and more than the favorite food that we crave, the bread and meat of this world, it's sustenance from another world we truly need. We need assurance from the Bread of Life that He is with us; that He cares, that He will provide our needs for spirit, mind, soul and body.

Run to Him, Jehovah God, today for whatever your need....He awaits with open arms - to comfort and calm His fearful child. He is seated at the right hand of the Father to make intercession for YOU today......He knows your heart 'n soul better than you know your own. Open His Word, the Holy, inspired, all-powerful Bread of Life, and let Him refresh and feed you, heart 'n soul, this day!

Today's prayer: "Lord, we're afraid - will there be enough? Will we survive? Is a financial crisis falling on our heads? What do we do? We run to your Word today. Bread of heaven, nourish us, feed us, calm us, heart 'n soul - we need comfort, reassurance, rest - and answers from YOU, this day. Draw us closer to you and supply our every need, in Jesus' Name, Amen."

Soul Food!

I love the taste of T-bone steak,
Delicious every bite,
But there's nothing like the Word of God,
For my spiritual appetite.

The Word of God has milk and meat,
And even ice cream and cake.
Take a slice of the Bread of Life,
And coffee to keep us awake.

Open your Bible and turn to Psalms,
For David's famous buffet.
You can drink all the wine of the Word you want,
And still feel fine the next day.

There's enough of the Word for everyone,
And no one has to cheat.
The Word of God is a smorgasbord,
So take all you are able to eat.

Let's have a little long suffering,
Job gives the recipe.
Patience is the main ingredient,
Self denial is the fee.

Wrap that up in temperance,
It may not make much sense,
Cover that with contentment,
Then add some joy for strength.

Let's have love for dessert,
Jesus made this dish,
Cream of joy and piece together,
Sift out all the selfishness.

Add some deeds of righteousness,
Enough to make it sweet.
Humility is the frosting,
That makes the dish complete.

Or are you on a diet,
Cause the race seems hard to run.
For a weight losing menu,
try Hebrews 12 and 1.

Are you suffering from malnutrition,
And don't know what to do?
Your spiritual growth seems hindered,
Try I Peter 2 and 2.

If when every time you battle,
The enemy always wins,
Try some Holy Ghost protein,
And spiritual vitamins.

God's Word can feed millions,
And still have plenty left.
Because the Word of God is Soul Food,
Sent from the World's Greatest CHEF.
