I had a glimpse of heaven this week...no, not literally, for a tired-out body, the mountains of laundry and email, and a messy house lived in by two teens while I was gone, told me I was not there yet--but I've just arrived home from the biggest celebration I've ever witnessed--"2000 Celebration," an Assemblies of God gathering to begin a new millennium of worship and service to the Lord.

I cannot begin to describe to you the awesome presence of the Lord as 35,000 of His people from 150 nations of the world worshipped and praised Him. "In one accord" is the best, borrowed-from-Scripture way to say it....so come to the Well with me today, join in the praise and worship, and KNOW that if it's THIS good, what's HEAVEN going to be like!! I don't care what denominational tag you wear and neither does HE--there will be none in heaven except one which says, "REDEEMED by the Blood of the Lamb!" So grab your trumpet, your tambourine, your Sword, and some VERY comfortable dancing shoes--it's time to celebrate!

A Helping Word...or Two!

One Accord in Praise!

They came from 150 nations of the world, and in their native languages, they lifted up their voices and hands in praise to the Lord we all serve! Sounds of worship and praise "filled the temple"--the RCA Dome--as a Parade of Nations began the event, led by native American Indian dancers glorifying with joy their Lord. Throughout the three days, I heard musicians worldwide gave Him honor and praise. The Katina Brothers from Samoa, the Mighty Sounds Gospel Quartet from South Africa, the Copenhagen Choir from Denmark, an accapella choir from the Ukraine, Dino, Big John Hall, John Starnes, a 900-voice Teen Challenge International choir, Natalie Grant and a 900-voice teenage choir, Carol Cymbala of the Brooklyn Tabernacle who composed and sang with the choir, "Go Forth in Jesus' Name!" And that's not all--for beyond all the heavenly music was the human voices of praise lifted as a mighty roar of thunder to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

In one accord...and wherever you live on Planet Earth, you too can join that massive celebration crowd this day, giving Him praise and glory. We serve a wonderful God who inhabits the praises of His people, who has redeemed us, who loves us, who guards and guides us, who lifts us up into "heavenly places" as we praise Him. Won't you join, as a Peggie's Place family, in a volume of praise heard 'round the world--let's meet at His throne in one accord and in praise this day!

One Accord in Prayer!

I've been in many a prayer meeting in my life, but never one like this! Dr. David Yonggi Cho, pastor of the largest congregation in the world in Seoul, Korea (700,000 members), ministered to the massive congregation in the power and authority of the Holy Spirit. Then a large steel-framed, see-through globe became the focus as world leaders and missionaries presented and prayed for the needs of each continent of our world. Music from each representative continent punctuated the prayers. I saw a Iranian leader pray for an Indonesian leader, both knowing what the word "persecution" is all about, even as this day Indonesian Christians hide in the mountains from rebels out to erradicate them from the face of the earth. Europe, Asia Pacific, North America, South America, Africa, all represented and brought to the Throne of Grace. Moments of unified worldwide prayer I will never forget.

In one accord...and wherever you live on Planet Earth, you too can join that massive celebration crowd, interceding today for YOUR country, YOUR people--and especially the persecuted church around the world. We serve a God who hears and answers prayer and whatever YOUR need, He bends an holy ear to hear and to meet that need. Won't you join, as a Peggie's Place family, a "prayer heard 'round the world"--let's meet at His throne in one accord and in prayer this day!

One Accord in Perfect Love!

Ever hug someone you didn't KNOW--but you DID know--through the Blood of Christ? Brothers and sisters from around the world, many speaking languages I certainly did not know, and yet the love of Christ crossed those barriers, flowing throughout the conference, touching people not only with God's grace but with love for one another. I prayed with a girl from South America--we could barely understand one another. Then there was the pastor/leader from India who told us he is number-one on a "hit list" in his district of Christians targeted for death. A lovely editor/writer from the country of Poland, a pastor's wife from Costa Rica, a missionary from Argentina, a former drug dealer now in a Teen Challenge program in New York--only God can bring such diverse people together...

In one accord...and wherever you live on Planet Earth, you can find someone to love too--a fellow believer who needs encouragement, a seeker who needs the Savior, an unbeliever who needs your love--and HIS--there are people all around us who need the kind of divine love only Christ can give. He poured it out in the RCA Dome in Indianapolis--and He will pour it out on you and through you too! Won't you join, in one accord, as a Peggie's Place family, in a "hug felt 'round the world"--let's love one another at His throne in one accord this day!

I sat in the RCA Dome for three days, my eyes drawn to a Bible verse placed high above the platform and my heart could not escape its holy meaning: "Lo, a great multitude...of all nations, and kindreds, and peoples, and tongues...stood before the throne..." Someday soon Christ will gather His Church around that throne, "in one accord" forever...but until that blessed day, I had a foretaste of it this week--along with thousands of my brothers and sisters around the world, praising, praying, loving in one accord.

THAT is what we do at Peggie's Place--and, until we all meet around His great throne, in one accord, that's what I want this home to ever be--a place of praise, prayer and love. May His Name be magnified and glorified as the fun and faith from Peggie's Place flows throughout cyberspace and around the world! May YOU feel His touch this day--wherever on Planet Earth you live!
