OK...let me explain, now that the groans have turned to giggles! Yesterday I wrote a very short devotional about overload, being completely exhausted and on overload myself! This morning, I inadvertently made some silly mistake, completely erased the devotional, could not retrieve it, and the overload I wrote about yesterday got bigger and bigger, as the mistake compounded itself into a nightmare. My husband was in the kitchen making wonderful pecan waffles, our Sunday morning tradition, and I was in my office making a crying mess everywhere! No need to send e-mail Kleenex, for I've dried my tears--it is almost funny now, and I will try to re-capture last night's devo as best I can! Hang on...and if YOU are on overload, stay tuned....we're in this together!

A Helping Word...or Two!

Come to "Peggie's Place" on the Web, and you'll find fun, giggles, joy, soft music, and inspiration for your soul! Come to Peggie's REAL Place the last couple of weeks, and you will find a ZOO--over 38,000 hits on the page since the airing of Focus on the Family, almost a thousand e-mails in my box, a new job, a new computer, and one worn-out woman! This has been a wonderful, exciting experience, and I'm grateful for God's goodness. But I'm not eating right, sleeping right, and as you can see, even my brain has gone into dysfunction! I'm on overload!

And what to do? Well, answering mail has become a family affair with my husband responding to chat room questions, my teen son Joey doing form letters, and as of yet, Jason, the little magician, has cleverly "escaped" the project and has been happily glued to the Nintendo 64! Thank you to all who have written. I do read and appreciate every wonderful note, but please understand that it is impossible to answer each one individually. So if you happen to get one of those form letters from Joey, don't fret--you are lucky! You've kept a teenager productive, helping Mom, and out of trouble!

A warm welcome to many new people visiting "Words from the Well" devotionals for the first time. This one is a bit strange--but that's life.....and don't laugh too hard, cause I can imagine you may relate to "overload" too, or you wouldn't be here! So jump in the boat along with me - I promise not to jump overboard, if you promise to hang in there with me! After all, Jesus knows all about our overloads, and HE'S in the boat and going to take us safely to the other side.

Enjoy this SHORT devotional--it's one in a million! Let the Lord take the distress and humor of MY situation and minister to you! He's that kind of God. As my pastor so often says, God will take what the devil means for harm and turn it around for good. If this devo helps YOU get through an overload, then it's worth it! Now I DID say this was going to be short...so let me stop breathing...I mean stop talking...and get RIGHT to the point...three points....and then we'll all going to shut off our computers and take a nap!!

Jesus Christ is nearest and dearest to us when we are overwhelmed and overloaded with life and its circumstances. He's there to help you--and me--and we're going to make it. He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us, and His Word is true. Now claim that Word for yourself today, shut off your computer, go lie down, and listen to a wonderful praise tape! Let HIM restore and renew you as you rest in HIS presence! That's exactly what I'm going to do...why don't you try it too!

...and that's just a thought or two--from my heart to yours!
