The Grieving of America: The Weeping, Wounded Eagle
A tragedy occurred on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, which has changed our lives forever. We weep for America--for the victims and families, for the weary rescue workers and medical teams, for the heroes who died saving others, for ourselves--Americans--who love our country and see it scarred by destruction and pain.
Let us not waste the pain--but rather, present it to God, let Him take it, transform it, heal it, and bring honor to His Name. For He is still the King. He is still in control. As we've heard so often, "We've read the end of the Book--and we win!"

A memorial to
the Attack on America on September 11, 2001
Under God, we are one nation,
North and south and east and west.
Liberty! our destination.
Our America Is blessed!
She is in a trying hour.
Enemies have struck her nest.
Standing as a super power,
Our America is blessed!
Doubters say that she is ailing,
But we know she'll make the test.
Trusting God, she is not failing.
Our America is blessed.
To the weak, she's been a mother.
To the weary, offered rest.
Treating strangers, like her brother.
Our America is blessed.
Do not curse her by your talking.
Stand for her and speak the best,
As in freedom you are walking,
In America, the blessed!

What's Right with America!
Let me tell you what's right with our nation.
Her critics will tell you what’s wrong.
She stands on a solid foundation.
Her faith makes America strong.
We have witnessed her leaders united.
As Americans stand side by side.
Our youth have their spirit ignited.
Glowing with national pride.
Our anthem brings us to attention.
The flag is respected and awed.
In our pledge of allegiance we mention,
We’re a nation submitted to God.
We've humbled ourselves, as a people.
We were wounded, but will not despair.
We hear the bells in our steeple,
Calling our nation to prayer.
In spite of our pain and great sorrow,
We're strong, and we'll win this fight.
As we build a brighter tomorrow,
By doing what's noble and right.

Who will help us understand,
When things don't go as we had planned?
When one we love is snatched away,
And no one knows, just what to say.
God Will!
Who knows our hurt and feels our pain?
When human words cannot explain?
And things that happen don't seem fair,
Because we know that He is there,
God Does!
Who can heal a broken heart?
And mend what life has torn apart?
What circumstances would destroy,
Who can turn it into joy?
God Can!

America! You are the land of the free.
You didn't just happen. God caused you to be.
You settled here from the east to the west.
Trusting in God, your future was blessed.
You taught your children to love and obey.
To honor their word, to work and to pray.
To respect their elders, and help those in need.
You reaped a good harvest by planting good seed.
You fought for freedom and stood for what's right.
When enemies threatened, you showed your might.
You gave your best, your daughters and sons.
Your ships and planes, your tanks and guns.
But as life became easy, it seems you forgot,
The price that was paid, and what you'd been taught.
Business was booming and you dropped your guard.
On September 11, you were hit hard!
Now as we rebuild and as we repair,
We humble ourselves, as we take time for prayer.
We ask God for grace to make right what is wrong.
Honoring God keeps America strong.
