An Encouraging Word for Times Like These
"We Will Not...!"
Words...powerful tools that can build up, tear down, bring together, tear apart...words that find places in our history books--and in our hearts. Our parent's generation remembered the famous words of the great world statesman, Winston Churchill,
"Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never--in nothing, great or small, large or petty--never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense."
And now it's time for a new generation to remember the words of another, George W. Bush, President of the USA. In light of the recent terrorism attack on America, these words will also find a place in our history--and in our hearts,
"We will not tire, we will not falter, we will not fail."
Patriotic determination is admirable, and as proud Americans, "united we stand" to support our president and to see his words fulfilled...but there's a greater war, a greater fight, a greater foe...and those same words must be repeated around the world, loud and clear, across land, sea and air, to the enemy of our souls, the foe of our faith, the ultimate source of evil in our world:
"We will not tire, we will not falter, we will not fail."
Devil, hear it loud and clear. Any personal, corporate, spiritual attack against the Church of Jesus Christ and the faith we hold dear will not be tolerated. We WILL not tire, we WILL not falter--and by God's help and power, we WILL not fail - for "GREATER is He that is within us than he that is in the world."
The "holy war in the heavenlies," which by the way has nothing to do with "Jihad," will be won by Jesus Christ, who remains King of Kings and Lord of Lords. God sits on His throne, not oblivious to the plight of man, but with compassion, watchful care and determined purpose and plan to see the Gospel proclaimed to all men - and then will the end come! And the end? It's the blessed hope of the Church - saints in the grave reunited with saints on earth as we all rise to meet the Lord, our conquering King, in the air.
And that's HIS Word to you and me for this day?
"...I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee (Joshua 1:5)."
You can stand on it; you can stake your life on it. God's purposes for YOUR life and for OUR world will NOT fail. Believe it--place your faith and trust in the unalterable truth of God's Word--tire not, fear not--for the God we serve CAN NOT and WILL NOT FAIL! You can mark that one down in the annals of our world's history --He is ALPHA and OMEGA, the BEGINNING and the END--and HE WILL NOT FAIL!
...and that's just a faith-filled thought or two from my heart to yours!
