Welcome to Tower of Strength
Written by Peggie C. Bohanon
"The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe (Proverbs 18:10)."

"God, Where ARE You??"
I awoke this morning to the sobering sounds of National Public Radio once again rehearsing the details of devastation, destruction and distress, a sequel to the day before. I found myself saying, "GOD, Where ARE You??"
And in the quiet of my heart, He replied with one word..."Immanuel!" Not just a "word"--but a Name--a mighty, powerful, all-sufficient Name that has comforted people down through the ages--a Name that means, "God with us."
Where is God in the middle of all of this? He's RIGHT HERE--IN the middle of it all WITH US! He cries with the bruised; He mourns with the broken. He extends His hand to heal, His ear to hear, His arms to hold. He's walking and working wherever He's needed--and that's everywhere! He's here with us all--He's HERE!
He's well aware of the terrorists who perpetrated this crime. He knows who they are, where they are and what they did. No man can hide from His presence--"Whither shall I flee from Thy presence..." They cannot escape His presence, wherever they hide this day. They are not hidden from Him, the One who is above all, Who knows all and Who STILL reigns supreme.
May He reign supreme in our hearts this day--as we hear, deep within our grieving hearts, the answer to our cries, "I am here; I am with you; I am Immanuel."
...and that's just a faith-filled thought or two from my heart to yours!

An Encouraging Word for Times Like These
It's Wednesday, September 12--the morning after the day before--a day that will live in infamy for us all. A night that found us magnetized, in horror and grief, as we gathered around televisions across our nation--and the world--to watch scenes of indescribable pain. I pulled myself away from the TV at 2 A.M., physically exhausted, emotionally spent.

A Scripture reading from His Word, our Strength
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace Isaiah 9:6 - KJV.
A song and a prayer for His all-sufficient grace "Lord, You ARE with us--You came down to us, You gave Your Life for us--and we can depend on You. We cry unto You, our Immanuel. Be near to Your broken, bruised and bleeding children this day. May we feel Your love, Your healing touch, Your grace and Your peace. In Your Name, Amen."
All Scriptures are taken from the King James Version of the Holy Bible.
