"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)."

Celebrating the Inauguration of President George W. Bush - The United States of America

Rev. Greg Asimakoupoulos, of Naperville, Illinois, (USA), honors President George W. Bush
on Inauguration Day 2005, in this creative and light-hearted poetry written especially for this day.

May God's blessings rest upon our President and national leaders -
and may God bless America, land of the free, home of the brave!

The Coronation of King George 2

Today our monarch gets his crown
while tens of thousands stand around
to hear him say "so help me God"
as they with cheers declare their laud.

King George the Second then will stand
and speak to those throughout the land.
He'll likely stumble once or twice
and probably wink at Condi Rice.

And in his fifteen minute talk
he'll state why we're still in Iraq.
And some will simply turn their back
in silent protest of his tack.

But since he'll rule for four more years
King George will not be left in tears.
He'll stand beneath that marble dome
and proudly look toward Lincoln's throne.

Be glad you'll watch it on TV.
It's awfully cold back in DC.
Be grateful too Bush ain't your name.
To be the king's a royal pain.
