A FAITH-FILLED WORD OR TWO...
A mini-message from God's Word for your week!
T.G.I.F. (Easter version)
"T.G.I.F.," under normal circumstances, means
"Thank God, it's Friday!" - we smile, relax and look forward to a
much-needed weekend break. Well, tomorrow is Friday, but it is no
"normal" Friday - it is Good Friday, the day we commemorate our
Lord's death on the Cross. Let us acknowledge THIS day--with holy awareness and
heart-felt thanksgiving...
So what do we say today? "It's Friday...and He's
faithful! It's Friday...and He's forgiving! It's Friday...and He's my
Friend!" All because of the Cross; all because on that momentous day in
history when He defeated sin, death and hell forevermore. Our Lord came face to
face with His foe--and ours. He has "bruised the serpent's head" and
He's become our conquering King! We can shout for all our todays and all of our
tomorrows, wherever we are and wherever we go:
THANK GOD, IT IS FINISHED!
What does that mean to ME this Holy Week? The finished work
on Calvary frames the portrait of my life. And as I live within its boundaries,
I am "free, yes, free indeed!" When Satan, the accuser of the
brethren, rears his ugly head in my face, I can say, "Devil, it's Friday,
and He's faithful! It's Friday, and I'm forgiven! It's Friday and my Friend has
set me free! It's Friday--and IT IS FINISHED! T.G.I.F.!! Believe it--and have a
wonderful Easter celebration!
Scripture: For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that he might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8)."
"Looking unto Jesus, the author and FINISHER of our
faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the
shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews
12:2)."
Prayer: "Lord, it's another memorable day as we bow in
thanksgiving to acknowledge and receive once again Your grace and love. Burn
within us Your cry from the Cross, "It is finished!" and let us know
the victory and finality of those words in our own hearts and lives this day,
In Jesus Name, Amen."

Easter Forecast
Don't let the
current conditions fool you.
The forecast
calls for an unseasonably beautiful twenty-four hours.
The darkness of
a damp cold dawn
may camouflage
the warm glow this day promises,
but in spite of
the gray clouds and mocking crows,
blue skies and
melodic songbirds wait in the wings.
The Sun of
Righteousness will rise with healing in his
to evaporate the
low-lying fog of hopeless and fear.
A grave
situation is grave no longer.
Christ is risen!
He is risen
indeed!

A Bonus Poem from the Pen of Rev. Greg Asimakoupoulos!
The Passion of the Christ (Revisited)
He was barely able to bear his own cross.
How he stumbled as if he were lame.
Still the passion of Jesus was more than his stripes.
It was seen in his undying aim.
His passionate love for an indifferent world
drove the Savior to shoulder our shame.
But the torture he felt by accepting our guilt
far exceeded his mere human pain.
Forsaken. Abandoned. Estranged and accursed.
Such agony never there's been.
The Son was cut-off from the Father of Lights
and eclipsed by the weight of our sin.
But come Sunday morning, the darkness was gone.
The One covered up like a seed,
was buried no longer. He burst forth with life.
Christ is risen! He's risen, indeed!

FUN 'n FAITH FOUND ON THE WEB...

The Easter Story According to Kids
Shortly before Easter, Bob's son drew a picture of the
crucifixion scene.
Bob noticed the picture had an airplane in the top corner.
"Son, this is a wonderful picture," Bob said.
"But what is the airplane doing?"
"Dad, don't you know?" the boy replied.
"That's Pontius Pilot!"

Faith, 3, went to Good Friday services. That night she
prayed, "Thank You, Jesus, for dying on the Cross. And thank You we didn't
have to watch!"
+++++
When Bonnie's daughter was four, they attended an Easter
pageant about the death and Resurrection of Christ. The play was beautiful with
magnificent costumes and scenery.
Bonnie made sure Robyn had an aisle seat so that she
wouldn't miss a thing. Jesus came staggering down the aisle carrying the Cross.
Big Roman soldiers pushed and shoved him.
Robyn watched with wide eyes. At the reception following the
performance, one of the actors who played a Roman soldier came over to Robyn,
kneeled down and quietly asked her, "Did you enjoy the play?"
Robyn wagged her finger at him and said, "You BAD man!
Bad! Bad man! You hurt my Jesus!"
