Peter, Pamela and Percy!
Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way

Seems like Peter, Pamela and Percy were in trouble this past week! An oil spill on South Africa's west coast "oil-soaked" Peter and his friends and concerned officials rescued and released them to swim back home on their God-given instincts, a trip of 750 miles. It's a real "trip" for the penguins and they're going to be OK, but it's been a bigger "trip" for thousands of South Africans who have minutely monitored the penguins' progress in the news--and of course, on the Internet.
Peter is the "Pied Piper" leading all the penguins back to CapeTown, as satellite tracking equipment devices monitor the journey. Today has been declared "Welcome Home Penguin Day"--an official celebration of the safe return home of the penguins. Peter should arrive first, then Percy next, with Pamela trailing behind, on her way home too! (Late-breaking news: Peter is somewhere in the general vicinity of "home" and they're out looking for the poor guy--he'll show up eventually, but in the meantime, he's hot news in the "Penguin Press" today!)
What a story--what a rescue! But I know a better one. God, in His great mercy, has rescued us from the oil slicks of Satan's "slime pit" and is guiding us home. His tracking system beats them all--He watches over us, guards us, guides us and brings us back home where we belong. Someday He will bring us all the way home--to our real home, His heavenly abode. What a wonderful God we serve--He takes care of the perky penguins, the precious little sparrows--and His very precious people too! Believe it and have a great, oil-slick-free, fantastic day!

Delight in a Word from the Well--a refreshing in the Water of His Word

"Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments; and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, who bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians (Exodus 6:6,7)."

Draw from the Well--a prayer for renewing strength for this day
Lord, thank You for Your "search-and-rescue" Triune team, who sought me in my sin and despair, found me and brought me home where I belong. Thanks for watching over me--if you can take care of penguins and precious sparrows, then I know You can certainly take care of me this day, In Jesus' Name, Amen."
