Yes, I know how to spell "pray" as in "don't 'pray' in school!" The Supreme Court sadly took care of that one! No--this preying is abit of a play on words--but it's no game we're talking about! Here's the story, and if you're into fairy tales, I've got a grand mix of two tales for you below!
One of my good friends summed it up perfectly, "Someone's been preying on your property!" Someone on the Internet, probably new in Web design, "grabbed" the front page of Peggie's Place, and put it on their own Web site--not just a link which would be fine (lots of people link!), but actually copied my front page onto theirs. Discovered it last week--it was reported, and it's already gone, thank goodness. Can't do that with copyrighted work! Sounds a little like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, but just like the story, it's all ok now, and everyone can live happily ever after. And I have no grievance with this person, who probably "preyed" without any malicious purpose, just unknowledgeable of the rules of the game.
But--there's one who DOES know the rules of the game and he DOES come, with malicious intent, to prey on my private property. He knocks at my door all the time. Matter of fact, he doesn't knock--he just tries to barge right in--on MY property--no, on GOD'S property, for I'm a child of the King! I know he's been on the prey around your place too, uninvited, and causing a heap of trouble. His basket is full, not of goodies for Grandma (as in another tale, "Little Red Riding Hood")--but overflowing with guilt, pain, sin, defeat, anger, failure, depression--and the basket is custom-made just for me--or you--to "get" us where he knows it will hurt the most!
Well, it's about time that SOMEONE tell him to get off GOD'S property--praying's allowed, preying's not! The enemy of our soul prowls, as a roaring lion, seeking his prey--and it's you and me, and a whole lot of others! And what are we to do? Politely say, "No, thank you--not today!"--NO--kick him OUT, don't let him beyond the doorstep...you are GOD'S property and he can't come in! RESIST him--and he'll run; and he'd better run fast; all of heaven stands at our defense along with God's Word, God's Name and the Blood of the Lamb over the doorpost of our hearts.
"So devil, take a hike--don't you dare prey on God's property. You're not welcome here!" Now, say it, mean it, slam the door, and have a wonderful day, living "happily ever after" in the joy and victory of your Lord!
