I wear a lot of HATS around here--you probably wear a lot too wherever YOU live--home, school, work, family, church--and that's only FIVE! Now picture us all--not in a fashion parade wearing ONE hat at a time--NO!! Get the REAL picture--hat upon hat upon hat upon hat.... The Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland had nothing on us--we do it all--at once!
We live in a busy, dizzy world. A mad, mad MAD world of perpetual motion that goes round and round and ends up no where fast--like the hurried hamster-in-cage going round and round on his little toy wheel. We stop the wheel long enough to pick up and put back on the hats that fell off--and back on the wheel we run. It's a mad, mad MAD world!
And sometimes the MAD turns to SAD as we reflect on the emotional wheel we're on and can't get off. But the wheel keeps turning...from SAD to BAD...and then we feel bad about ourselves for not being able to handle it all. But the wheel keeps turning....from BAD to HAD...and we feel "had"--taken advantage of, used, taken for granted...and the wheel keeps turning back to MAD again...for it's a mad, mad, MAD world we live in...and what to do?
Stop the wheel. Start with the Word--His Word to you today...Be still long enough to hear HIM speak--words of encouragement, support, comfort, wisdom, grace. He may ask you to hand a hat or two back where it came from--the extra ones you put on out of guilt, pressure, and the inability to say NO! When He is finished removing the hats you DON'T need, then let Him decorate the HATS you DO need...discipline, delegation, direction...and then DELIGHT...for...
His divine intervention is all you need! He knows what you're going through--and He knows how to replace the mad, the sad, the bad and the "had" hats you wear with one of His own--heaven's "hat" - it's called GLAD...it's HIS goodness, HIS grace and HIS glory...His saints wear it well. Daniel, David, Dorcas, Deborah...whatever the dilemma, they found their delight in the Lord--and so will you!
So--crown yourself with HEAVEN'S HAT today...it's a hat of love, peace and joy--it wears well and it's FREE for you this day!
