Today's devotional: "The ABC's of Abundance: Turkey and All the Trimmings!?!"
Thanksgiving at Peggie's Place . . . "Don't Let the Grinch Steal Thanksgiving!"
No, I don't mean your kids--or mine--although there are days that either may qualify for the grand prize, I'm sure! AND I don't mean the terrorists on the streets of our cities that bomb buildings and blow up people, even including themselves sometimes, with no regard to life or the laws of the land. It's a stressful, scary world we live in....stress in the home, scare in the world...but THAT'S not what I'm talking about.You can't see or touch him; you'll never catch him with human hands; you'll never try him in a court of law--but he is the REAL terror of this world. He has his own in his grasp, so he doesn't bother them...but be a Christian living for the Lord, winning souls to the Kingdom, doing good in His Name...and the terrorist on the loose will be after YOU!
He will attack you--body, mind, soul and spirit. He will harrass and hamper you every way he can. He'll use every trick in the book to defeat, discourage, depress and dismay you...IF you let him. The terrorist from hell knows no backing down--UNLESS you take authority over him in the Name of the Lord and the Power of His Word......and THEN, he must flee.
"Power, Love and a Sound Mind!"--God's words of encouragement sent to me by a friend, just this past week, helped when the terrorist knocked at my door, bringing fear in a basket until I was nearly IN one myself! Fear, from the pit of hell, is one of the terrorist's greatest tactics against the Christian and it must be confronted with the Word of God. If you succumb to it, you're sunk! So don't succumb! Don't give the devil an INCH of your property! You belong to God and he, the terrorist, must know he is treading on dangerous ground when he messes with you.
Some day he will be on the loose no more - in God's time, Satan will be bound and thrown into the pit permanently where he belongs. But until then, you can be sure he will walk around as a roaring lion, "seeking whom he may devour." RESIST him in the faith--let him terrorize you no longer; rebuke him in the Name of the Lord--and you will have a victorious day!
