Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way
Have you heard about Ernie, the USA President's "lost-and-found" cat? It's the funniest story recently told by Laura Bush, our lovely First Lady, on "Larry King Live." I had heard about this runaway cat, but to hear her tell it was just delightful!Apparently, this rascal of a cat is a "scratcher" and that just wouldn't work around the historic, valued furniture at the White House. Therefore, the Bushes logically left Ernie in the care of Los Angeles family friends...and somehow the cat got lost! It was found roaming the "Avenue of the Stars" and is now back, safe and found. I've got proof - I went searching on the Web to find the story, and I found it--you will enjoy "Ernie, the Comeback Cat," from the Washington Post. (See link below.)
Guess what! The president's cat isn't the only one to "come back" -- there was a kid in a Bible story you and I learned long ago--The Parable of the Prodigal Son. He left father and home to go his own way, ended up living with the pigs and finally decided, "I will arise and go back to my father and home." He did--and was warmly welcomed by a loving Father--who was waiting to receive him with open arms.
Do you have a loved one who's wandered away from the Father's home? Know that he or she is never out of the Father's sight or care. The Father, all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful, waits and watches with love for that prodigal to get his fill of "eating with the pigs," and come back home. God sees and hears your heart's cries; He still answers prayer...so don't give up! The "Comeback Kid," by God's grace, is coming home! Believe it--hang on to the promises of God--and have a great day!
