Ever been dead--dead TIRED, I mean? I use that expression frequently after an exhausting day, and a good friend reminds me that I am NOT dead...I am just tired and need some rest. I awaken the next morning to discover I am very much alive once again--I think!
But there really IS a "dead man"--or woman--living inside of us, if that makes any sense at all! For you see, when we gave our lives to Christ, we became "crucified" with Him. The old ways, the old thoughts and desires gave way to new ones and we became alive in Christ. Officially! Appropriating that life in Christ is not always easy. Deep within lie angers, fears, depressions not quite dead but wanting to "come alive" again. Don't give in! Let the "old man" stay dead--you've got a REAL life--and it is hid with Christ in God. Believe it--and have a GREAT day!
