Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way
Not long ago, an atheist came to Peggie's Place, wrote me with all his rantings and ravings about the "God who AIN'T" - well, he didn't word it quite so ungrammatically, but nevertheless, that's his motto in life. A sad way to live--and I'd ask you to pray for this young man, now a regular correspondent with my husband, who is trying to win him for the Lord.
God may be non-existent--or dead--to the atheists and agnostics of our world, but He's alive to me--and to you too! God IS!! He is love, grace, mercy, peace, joy, forgiveness, and everything we need. Try to describe Him and you will exhaust the English language--or any language. He is the Indescribable God, and He's OURS, praise His Name!
He is God of the Human Soul--He knows me, loves me, understands me. He knows my deepest joys and sorrows, perplexities and problems--why? Because He IS--He exists from all eternity to meet the needs of my soul.
He is God of the Rugged Cross--He was wounded for me, bore my sins, died for me--and offers forgiveness for my past, my present and my future--why? Because He IS--He exists from all eternity to show me His great love.
He is God of the Empty Tomb--He was buried for me, and He arose again--and because He lives, I shall live also. I can know His resurrection power NOW as I live daily for Him and proclaim His Gospel to my world. Why? Because He IS--He exists from everlasting to everlasting--to bring me--and a world He loves--eternal life!
Because He IS, I AM...I live in His strength and power and I can do all things through Him who strengthens me! I can forgive, I can forget, I can be free; I can walk with Him, talk with Him, know His will, and believe His Words...why? Because He IS!!
What do you need Him to be to you today? He IS--and He is well able to meet your needs, whatever they may be this day. Believe it--and have a great day!
