Warriors are supposed to RUN in the fiery war, to MARCH in the hottest sun, to BATTLE in the hardest field, shoulder to shoulder, with the rest of the troops. Well, warriors get weary; warriors get wounded, and when they do, when they can barely walk, let alone run, they need to know they're not alone...and they're not!You see, I know a Walking Warrior who understands the war. He walks beside us, before us, behind us and with us in the battle of life. He's already walked in our shoes (or our BOOTS!), fought the same enemy, known the same weariness, experienced the same wounds--He's "been there/done that" and more!
Our Walking Warrior is a friend who "sticketh closer than a brother" and when you're in battle, that's the kind of Friend you need! He knows your pain; He knows your name. And HIS Name? "Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace!"
Let this Mighty Warrior be your "walking buddy" this week--when you're too weak or too wounded to run. Your Heavenly Brother will walk beside you and fight for you, for "The battle is the Lord's," not yours! He knows you're tired; He knows you're hurt--rest in His care a while, recall who is really fighting for you - the "Wonderful One, the Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace" - say it over and over until His Name fills your tired, weary, worn, wounded soul with joy, peace, rest, love--AND healing!
Been wounded not just by the foe, but "in the house of your friends"? Know that there's healing for you too. You see, He's BEEN there--He was betrayed, rejected, and forsaken by His dearest friends--and He understands. Bitterness doesn't win the battle; unconditional love and forgiveness does. So when you get ready to forgive--and to let it go and love as HE did--and that's hard--be assured that the Prince of Peace is there to help and heal you too!
It's not OVER--you're NOT defeated. You're a victor in Jesus' Name...and you WILL run again.....now believe it, let Him encourage your wounded, weary heart. Then encourage your brothers in battle, the same; we are "more than conquerors" through Him, the Warrior, our Brother, who walks with us all--morning, noon and night! Believe it and have a great day!
