I'm No Dummy!
Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way
There's someone runnin' around town who likes to aim darts, hurdle stones, and whack you with weapons called words. He's vicious. No, not your husband or your boyfriend. Heaven forbid--and if that IS so, please call an abuse hotline immediately! I'm referring to someone unseen, the harasser of your life, the devil himself!
Words do hurt--deeply. When we think of word-piercing wounds, we immediately think of someone who's hurt us deeply, perhaps years ago, with some uncalled-for name or slur. But wait a minute--we hurt ourselves with words when we belittle "me"--the person God made....and we do it all the time. "Dummy," we say to ourselves as we "do dumb things" all day long, "WHY did you do that!"
Well, I can tell you why you--or I--did "that"! It's because we're human; we're part of the fallen race and we make mistakes; we goof; we say or do the wrong things at the wrong time; we feel foolish--we are not perfect! Count how many times you call yourself a "dummy" today--and STOP it!
Sure, the devil would like you to believe that you are a dummy. Well, you are no dummy--you are Designer-made, in God's image. He knows you completely (see the song link below!), yet you are perfect in HIS eyes, no matter how many mistakes you make today! Now take a deep breath, go look in the mirror, smile and say to yourself, "I'm NO DUMMY--I'm perfect in my Father's eyes!"
Remember today to watch those words--and go have yourself a great, GOD-made day!
