Let's Celebrate!?!

Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way!

The party ended at midnight last night--and what a shame. Not that it ended, but that it began--with so much sin, sex and shame paraded, in Mardi Gras fashion, before a watching world. And then there were the political parties that just began last night--as two hopeful candidates celebrated victory and set their eyes on the prize.

Our world celebrates shame and success; we celebrate joy. Big difference. As Lenten season begins, let us look to Jesus, the true author of our joy, who took our pain, our shame and our suffering as His own--and He did it with joy. Lord, let us be grateful for the Cross today as we celebrate the deep, inner joy you give us daily--a joy that no party shame or political gain can give or take away. The party doesn't stop at midnight--YOUR joy is eternal--and it is ours for THIS day!

Delight in a Word from the Well--a refreshing in the water of His Word

"Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2 KJV).)"

Draw from the Well--a prayer for renewing strength for this day!

"Lord, life in our world this week has brought party shame and political gain--and we watch--and YOU watch--and know there's something far more lasting and satisfying. It's YOUR joy and what a price You paid that we might know it--and know YOU. Thank You, Lord--give us this day a portion of that eternal joy that no man nor circumstance can take away. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Have a great day--and remember there's nothing that will happen today
that you and your Lord cannot handle together!
