When you're married 25 years, you KNOW there are times when living with him--or her--is "next to impossible!" And so it was with great delight and a big grin that I opened my anniversary present on one of those anniversaries from my dear husband. It was a lovely "Precious Moments" figurine--a darling but stubborn little girl standing, with arms crossed, next to this cute little boy--and the title of this classic Precious Moments figurine?? "Sometimes you are next to impossible!"
Well--that's true--sometimes he IS next to impossible, whether he is standing alongside of ME, or whether I am referring to HIM...and of course, vice versa--so we have the rest of our married lives to discover which one is the more impossible of the two. As long as we can do it laughing and with love, it's OK, folks--and if you're married as long as we are--or even less--you surely can relate!
One thing I know...no matter how "impossible" we human beings--marriage partners, kids, family, friends, colleagues in the workplace or the churchplace--can act, I know of One who DOES the impossible...He keeps us all together in His love, mercy and grace--and we are all going to make it, no matter WHO we stand beside--for most of all, HE is standing beside us all--and HE knows NOTHING or NO ONE impossible!! Believe it--and have a great day!!
