So WHAT Day Is It?

Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way

Yesterday my brain slipped a gear and I got ready to race out of my office--late--for my regular hairdresser's appointment. I quickly phoned in that I'd be a few minutes late, when my faithful hairdresser reminded me, "You don't HAVE an appointment today--it is tomorrow!" Sure enough, today, as I write this, is Thursday, all day--TOMORROW is Friday!

Ever get YOUR days mixed up? Come on, admit it--especially if you're over 40! I finally figured out what day it was--Thursday, of course--but "today," for sure! Yesterday with all its blunders and burdens is gone; tomorrow with all its pain and gain is still ahead; this is TODAY, all day, and I can choose to live it with God--or without Him.

A "do-it-myself" day isn't going to work very well, so I will choose to take Him along with me--just for today! I will choose to be kind and forgiving when it's hard--just for today! I will choose to commit "the tough stuff" to Him--just for today! Surely I can do it for ONE day...and then tomorrow I will begin again, walking with Him, content to know my past is in His keeping, my future is in His care, and today is mine to live for Him--WHATEVER day of the week it is!

Will someone please remind me tomorrow that it is SATURDAY! And if you forget too--just remember, today will be yesterday, tomorrow will be today and if you can figure that one out, I wish you a good day!

Delight in a Word from the Well--a refreshing in the Water of His Word

"This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24)."

Draw from the Well--a prayer for renewing strength for this day

"Lord, some days I don't know what day it is either--I just want to get it over with. You know all about those kinds of days--and You are with me, one day at a time--to hear my prayer, to touch my need and to see me through. I will trust You with THIS day--just for today! In Jesus' Name, Amen."
