Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way

When my husband, the professor, prepares for a test--so does his prize pre-med students! They gather in our home and cram organic chemistry in their brains until it comes out their ears...'cause his tests are hard, but fair--and so he gives them an added bonus of a buzz session the night before. Of course, that's not the ONLY bonus--'cause the professor's wife is known to traditionally bake chocolate chip cookies and provide treats...it softens and sweetens the blow!

Our heavenly schoolmaster does the same thing...He knows a test is coming and He prepares us too--with a special word from His Word, with the sweetness of His presence, and an extra supply of His grace. The test may be hard--but in His lovingkindness, He patiently walks us through it, step-by-step, and when the test is successfully over, graded and handed back, HE's marked the record, "A+--Well done, thou good and faithful servant!"

Are you going through a test this week? Don't despair--God is with you; He's prepared you to make that A+...and remember, He wastes no pain. He will use it for His ultimate glory, and you will be a sweeter child for it all. "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!" Go ahead, taste those heavenly treats, prepare for that earthly test, and proclaim His grace and goodness when it's over! Have a great day--and you're allowed to snitch TWO cookies before lunch!

Delight in a Word from the Well--a refreshing in the Water of His Word

"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusteth in him (Psalm 34:8)."

Draw from the Well--a prayer for renewing strength for this day

"Lord, You are so faithful and kind to me. The tests of life would overwhelm me, but You are there to prepare me, to walk with me, to help me make the grade. There's a big test ahead this week, Lord. I need Your help and Your sweet presence, and I receive it now, In Jesus' Name, Amen."
