Ever TRY to eat an elephant? Ever WANT to eat an elephant?? I prefer chicken or steak on the grill myself--but after watching the Republication National Convention this past week and enjoying all the fun and fury that's a part of any political convention, my mind goes back to little-girl days and my "I Like Ike" button (honest, I'm that old!) - and of course, the elephant symbol of that great party. Now whether you like elephant stew--or donkey dessert--is not that important, 'cause really, I just want to talk about elephants and this gives me a good "platform" to stand on!

Of course, we don't eat elephants in real life--at least *I* don't--or DO we? Ever try to tackle a big task all by yourself--and do it all or learn it all at once? Something you were SURE you could never do nor learn? Ever try to read the Bible through--all at once? Or lose weight--in an instant? Or grow ALL the Fruit of the Spirit--in a day? Or clean your whole house--in a few hours? Of course, it is impossible! Why? Because we can only do it all a bite at a time...and do I have a story...

For today marks the 100th Daily Bible Booster page at Peggie's Place. The place itself, with over 400 pages, is a tribute to God's grace and glory--eating an elephant a BYTE at a time. Peggie's Place began almost five years ago--and I barely knew what I was doing. It began small, then just grew and grew, as little "bytes" were added here and there. Could I sit down and do it all at once? No way--and neither can you!

For whatever project or task we are doing for ourselves or for the Lord, there's only ONE way to do it...a bite at a time. Looking at the whole project before it is done will make you run back to the jungle and hide. It will overwhelm you--and nothing will get done. Persevering--and praying--with each bite or byte--will get the job done--and you'll be a "happy camper" in that jungle, knowing God is helping you each step...or bite/byte--of the way!
