Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!

Bible Byte 'n Chocolate Chew for Today!

"In One Ear....!?!"

Today's Bible reading (International Bible Society): Mark 4:9-12 (NIV)

"In one ear.....OUT THE OTHER!!" If you're a parent, you know full well how this works. Tell a kid to clean his room - it goes "in one ear....." - right? We hear what we want to hear....and do what we want to do.

Now we would NEVER do that with God - or would we? Does God ever speak to you, deep within your spirit, and you try not to listen - 'cause maybe you don't like what He's saying? Let's be honest - we don't like to be scolded; we don't like to hear the truth when it hurts - we're all little kids by nature....so what to do??

Grow up! Act like a responsible adult who loves God and wants to serve Him in full measure. Next time God talks, let's "listen up" - not just to the words of comfort, but the words of correction too. They're for our good and God knows we will be better Christians for it.

So - kids, when Mama says, "Go clean your room," do it - someday, guys, your wife will thank me (now I'm talkin' to MY boys - chuckle!) And to all of us - when God says, "Listen," let's take it in one ear - stop it in the middle before it takes off out of the other ear....and pay attention to the good things God is trying to teach us.

We will all have a God-filled, choc-rich day, the better to enjoy the clean rooms our kids have created - now smile like you mean it, and say, "Lord, speak to me TODAY because I am listening!
