Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!

Some people eat to live...others live to EAT! I'm in the second group--sorta--FOOD is my middle name! Now while I certainly recognize there are more important reasons for living than just EATING, I must admit it IS one of my favorite pasttimes! When I'm past the line of reasonability, accountability, and refusability, you can bet I'll be heading for the chocolate ice cream in the freezer, the potato chips in the closet, and if YOU have some goodies in YOUR closet, watch out--don't let me in the front door! The family of God love to eat - and that includes me!!

Holidays are a time of great pleasure for foodaholics...it begins in January with a New Year's dinner, then there's Valentine's Day candy, Easter baskets, Mother's Day and Father's Day dinners, July 4 and Labor Day picnics, Halloween candy, Thanksgiving turkey, Christmas breads, Christmas candies; church potlucks, and don't forget the delivery pizza...and the DIET you'll go on NEXT month! Come on, be honest, you love it all too! So what's the point? A lecture from the food-lover herself? No way...but where's the middle ground?

It's found between the fun and faith we enjoy daily--it's the REAL FOOD and sustenance of our lives--"Taste and see that the Lord is good" - and that includes His Word. That Word will bring balance to our fun AND our faith. It will feed our souls and strengthen our spirits as no earthly food will ever do. God's Word is a delight to the longings and yearnings of our heart--we can indulge there without limit--feasting on His love, grace, mercy and eternal joy.

Earthly food doesn't last--eternal food lasts forever and will keep us HERE and take us THERE! It's calorie-free, fat-free, sugar-free, and the wonderful, wholesome Word of God--everlasting food for the eternal soul. Believe it! In the middle of your year-long celebrations of fun and faith, enjoy that fantasy fudge and fantastic food--but don't forget where your real pleasure resides...in HIM and in HIS WORD! Indulge in THOSE delights as well--and you will have a wonderful, choco-rich, food-enriched, Word-enriched day!
