Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!

"Withdrawal Woes!?!"
Today's Bible reading (International Bible Society): Mark 3:7-12 (NIV) . . . Enjoy Bible Gateway's Verse of the Day today!

Withdraw me from chocolate and you've got a woeful woman on your hands! Withdraw me from the chores of life for a getaway in Hawaii and I'd love it. Withdrawal, as we know it, could be bad or good, depending on the circumstances. For Jesus, it was good. He needed a getaway from the stresses of His life - throngs of people pressing upon Him for healing and help. It was a purposefully-planned withdrawal - and it worked. Our Lord got the needed rest and renewal to continue His ministry.
We too need a daily withdrawal from "the land of the living" to fellowship with our lovely Lord....Stresses accumulate - family, work, people, even the church community - life wears on us and we become weary. Let's take a break - a much-needed break to sit at the feet of Jesus, to read His Word, to reach out to Him in prayer.
Now THAT'S a good withdrawal - just don't take away my chocolate, and I will have a wonderful day - and so will you!
