Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." "Rejoicing in Suffering...a Holy Spirit Song!"
Daily Manna's Bible reading: Romans 5:1-5 (NIV)
I heard it with my own ears. Driving my husband home after one-day surgery with, naturally, a normal bit of suffering to follow, we found ourselves in a storm, and then I heard the most amazing thing. In or out of tune, my husband, the "patient," newly cut and sewed back together, was singing at the top of his lungs, "My sins are blotted out, I know."It was a funny but precious few moments as I listened to the non-soloist being the soloist with no audience but me and the Lord. He didn't care who heard him - he was praising the Lord, enjoying the presence of the Holy Spirit with him through the surgery, the storm, and whatever minor suffering might follow.
Suffering isn't a fun word - neither is "storm," but when the Holy Spirit resides within the heart of a Christian, out of suffering and out of the storm can come rejoicing - and a song - in or out of tune, it's a song of the heart. And God listens!
Whatever storm you may be in this day, know that He is listening for the song of rejoicing coming from your heart, praising His Name, at all times! Try it, watch Him work wonders in your heart and life as you praise Him - He's listening to you too! Believe it and have a wonderful, God-filled, Spirit-led, heaven-healing, choco-rich day - as I chain my husband to the couch (he's ready to roll!) and chuckle at the non-soloist's next song for the neighborhood!
