Ever feel like "Annie" from the delightful musical? Alone in this world and no one to care is a dreadful place to be - and I got a brief taste of it when both parents went to be with the Lord. I felt so alone....the parents who brought me into this world, who cared about my health, my morals, my report card, my food and yes, even my chocolate, were gone.
I grieved and then the Lord directed me to a wonderful poem from "The Decision Magazine." It's probably still tucked in an old Bible somewhere, but it's really tucked into my heart. For I learned I was NOT an orphan. I had a Heavenly Father who loved and cared for me. I was truly not alone.
And neither are you. Whatever your circumstances, however sad and desolate you feel, you are not alone. "He lives with you and will be in you." Our Lord, the second Person of the Triune God, has sent the Holy Spirit to abide in your soul. You are not alone - ever, ever, ever - for HE will never, never, never leave you.
You are a child of the King, bought with a price, and you belong to Him. Now believe it, receive it, and you will have a rich, God-filled, choco-covered day you will never forget!
PRAYER: "Lord, I feel so alone. Help me to cling to Your Word and know, with full assurance that I am not alone. I belong to the King; I'm a child of the King and You are with me and in me. I will never be alone again, in Jesus' Name, Amen."
